I won't be inactive, but my brain will be for a while, so don't expect many intelligent posts... Some big shit has gone down RL... I will still have plenty of time to play, and hopefully the monotony of digging will help out Smile

I'd be online more, but my laptop tends to overheat and seize up if I play minecraft. In a few days I'll be able to send it back for free service, but my supplier is on vacation this week. Hopefully he'll be able to fix the overheating problem and send it back to me, and I can resume my usual participation ratio.

I have been away for the last several days while I was building my new computer and getting that done. Now that it's complete I'll probably be able to get one more session in before I leave again for a short road trip with my family.

Well, I finally got my laptop back from repairs, and the overheating issues seem to be solved!

Unfortunately, while Dwarf City is still on the same map we started with, my other server that I admin on has just started a new map due to the Version 1.3 release adding emeralds and a few other features we want in all the chunks we can get them in. We also did a recruiting drive recently and added some new members, so I'm both trying to build myself a new personal base complex on the new map, and trying to keep an eye on several new members to make sure they behave themselves. So now that I can play MC again...much of my MC time will be absorbed by my other server. And by "personal base complex" I mean, "See that farming tunnel we have in Dwarf City with the 16 sheep pens, other pens for cattle and pigs and chickens, plus several chambers of various types of farm? I gotta dig out a copy of that all by myself. Plus living/working/storage space for myself and a separate bedrock-level mine." So I may be a while yet.

Come one, come all. I don't actively recruit here because I consider it slightly rude to go onto a server or its webforum and try to talk people into playing on a different server instead, but if anyone is interested in a second server, Golemland is also a nearly-entirely-vanilla, entirely-legit server with a great bunch of people and, until the recent map move, a great set of public infrastructure in place. It will be a while before we get the 5-km-long subway network we used to have up and running again, but we WILL get there someday. The only gameplay-changing mod we use is a chest locking plugin, plus a couple of behind-the-scenes things like a whitelist and a realtime mapping tool.

Frankly, there's not a lot to see on our server just yet, due to the map switch. A couple of half-completed houses and farms and the odd hole in the ground, that's about it.

Anyways, I have been away from the server lately due to lack of motivation. I just settled in to get on some tonight, but for some reason I can't connect to minecraft.net and thus can't play online. I don't think this is an issue on my end, but if it is, I could be out for a little while until I get it figured out.
