Who has been incinerating!?!?

Ok, someone has been destroying items, and i'd very much like to know who it is. We keep everything, and that is that. Don't go destroying anything. That is all, if you did do it, please just admit to it, rather than putting us all through crap

First of all, what items have been destroyed and how many?

Probably one of the new guys who hasn't been informed about that "policy".

I hope we didn't lose anything too important.

about half a chest of gunpowder is the obvious thing... however, i've had a feeling things have been going missing for a while

Half a chest of gunpowder? Didn't someone just make TNT out of that or move it from grinder loot to mob loot chest?

I think I know the source of the gunpowder loss. I found this today in the storeroom while looking at our supplies of ores. Picture is needlessly big, open in new tab to see it in full.
Needless to say that I was pretty surprised myself when I saw it. It seems to be some harmless trolling, but is even less appropriate especially after the landmine incident.

Hm, perhaps it is the same guy. What will come next? I would give an example for effect but I don't wanna give a potential rascal any ideas.

Even if this is the work of a serious player who just had a boring day and figured it wouldn't be that big of a deal, it would still be great if you could let me or Bren know about it. I'm pretty sure I speak for both of us when I say there will be no consequences if you didn't actually purposefully ruin stuff, we just want to know that we can rest assured that there is no secret saboteur in our midst.

If it is the same person as last time, that rules out any of the new people. I guess we should keep an eye out for suspicious oddities in the city. In case of serious attacks, are there any backups being made? Sure we can repair small damage, but major damage will hold us back from moving on to new things.

Wasn't me. I did build the incinerator in the double grinder, and used it to dispose of some bones, arrows, and unenchanted bows I didn't want to make extra trips to haul up to the main warehouse. Maybe half a dozen stacks of each of the normal skeleton drops and a couple dozen unenchanted bows. All stuff we've got chests and chests of already, both in the grinder itself and back at the main storage center, more than we could ever possibly use, and a certain and inexhaustible supply of more via the XP grinder if we do decide we want more.

I also have been known to notice large amounts of gunpowder in the hall-of-nature chests and make a couple of stacks of TNT, which I then place in a chest over in the hall of crafts and never use myself. I figure they might be somewhat useful in digging the new farm caves, or even just sticking in a chest for cosmetic/roleplay purposes in the barracks once we build those. But mostly it's to store 5 stacks of gunpowder and 4 stacks of sand in one slot to save on chest space, since we've got a reliable supply of gunpowder from the quadruple item grinder and a large source of sand in the nearby desert.

But I haven't even logged into the server in over a week, due to computer troubles and other real-world issues. So if someone's been mucking around with incinerators or TNT lately, it ain't me.

I knew about the incinerator in the grinder, which I put up a sign saying only incinerate unenchanted bows. I also knew those two stacks of gunpowder, but it's more the problem of the half chest changed into TNT

Personally I think you should do an inventory check.

Nope, just download the player .dat files to your PC and use InvEDIT (has picture of item) or NBTEdit (has just the ID of item) to view the inventory and possibly alter them.

Yes, backups have been made ever since the start so there's no need to get too worried about it.
