Re: So what did YOU do today?
4 or so picks later, and we dug a good share outta the top, the rivers getting in our way so its slow progress

Dug out areas by the river. Slow progress because of river. I also finished the roof while spectrum wars was on.

Re: So what did YOU do today?
He finished the domed dirt ceiling over the entrance cavern, so it can get a stone layer put on top of it, then have the dirt removed, to be the shaped ceiling of the side cavern. Do we want to light up the underside in any manner? Maybe have a few semi-random embedded jewels or silk-touched ores, and glowstone/jackolantern lights to show them off?
As he mentioned, though, I was on for a bit. Harvested the new farm on the entrance cavern floor, doubled the size of the wheat and reeds areas, replaced all the melon stems with pumpkin ones, and inspected the new progress on the ceiling area of the main cavern. Impressive progress, guys.

That is indeed bothersome, that river was such an annoyance when I was digging the edges up there.

I'm not sure about lighting it up but definitely no ores or anything. This is a natural cavern, not a dwarven room.

No ores or lighting... It's a natural cavern, which will be huge, dark, and creepy. So,no lighting... and if there's no lighting, what's the point of ores?

Definitely no lighting in the completed version, no... I figured he was referring to supportive lighting while finishing the walls and stuff.

dug out a large chunk in the main cave, it makes the room feel huge.

Re: So what did YOU do today?
The room IS huge, that's kinda the point. I moved the top layers back a few rows on both sides.
Re: So what did YOU do today?

Re: So what did YOU do today?
So yesterday I went online and ventured into what will be the main room of the Farm Caves. I know this is odd, but all of my digging has been in that smaller room towards the side and I had no idea how much progress had been made! Needless to say I was in awe. I should have enough time soon to get back on and do my share but i'll probably still work on the smaller room for now.

And when I finally get a chance to get back on, I'll be focusing my attention on th smaller room as well, to get that done.
Once we have finished the smaller room, I'll then focus my attention to shaping the walls of the larger section.
Just a reminder too, where we have the far left end (left on entering the large cave), is where the island/pillar will begin

So this is the final size then? In the past you put this as a starting size that was going to get bigger later. If it's not gonna be exactly what we have now, there's no point in shaping the walls yet. Just something to think about =p

Re: So what did YOU do today?
No, this isn't the final size... My wall shaping will involve leaving a shit ton of stone bulk to be dug out... And as I said, where we have reached the end, is the start of the island, so that means we'll be going much further in that direction

Alright
But how is the island going to be located? Surrounded by water or up against one of the walls?

Generally the definition of an island is a body of land surrounded by water... (not exactly, but you know)... Take a look at the old dodgy paint pictures

Good point. I recall the picture by Snate looking a bit like the island was against a wall, that's why I asked. Perhaps that was the pillar though.

Re: So what did YOU do today?
dug a little and me and donny blasted out some more chunks. Blasting could be used to create subway lines if we wanted a roughly blasted look.
