About where you live ;)
Being an aussie, I always enjoy a joke, whether it's at my expense or someone else's. I figure why not share a few big stereotypes and jokes about our own countries... me and SW have had a few over the time
So, a few stats about australia:
We have all of the top 10 most venomous snakes in the world
We have most of the deadliest spiders in the world (can't remember the number)
Our spiders eat our snakes
Our spiders eat birds
We have crocodile infested waters (saltwater crocs are deadlier than your little alligators over in america)
We have bluebottle and box jellyfish through our waters
Sharks rule our coastline
We have baby eating dingoes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Azaria_Chamberlain)
We have drop bears (dangerous things... vegemite behind the ears is the only known repellent)
We are a country run by a soulless woman (Julia gillard, ranga)
No, it's not just a stereotype that we enjoy a beer or 10 at the beach
Australia, the county that will destroy you
So, what about the places you guys live? Try not to say anything too offensive (you can't offend me, but some others may be more easily offended)

Re: About where you live ;)
Dutch guy here
1. Don't like the heat of Australia
2. Don't like spiders (nopenopenope)
3. Fairly sure you have 110 volts AC coming out of the sockets; that's boring!
Anyway, over here it's usually not warm nor cold, rainy, cloudy, lots of farmland, cow shit and crowded (small) cities, very annoying people from certain African countries, the Polish(I like them), legal weed(smelly stuff), we are number 5 on the list of yearly coffee consumption (8.4 kg) and most of the famous people here are dumb.
There.

We get 240 volts AC
To me the heat is great (I wanna move further north to get a little warmer, as 15 degrees Celsius is too cold)
We seem to be flooded with Asians, and all our jobs are taken by either Asians or Indians

You wanna get warmer?!
15 degrees is nearly too hot for me. I have 25 in my apartment during this summer heat and it's paralyzing and torturous and I swear if the arctic tundra had a colony I would move there before you could say fish sticks.

Comfortable? Since when is dying comfortable??
Jeans and a jumper is for 0 degrees! I'd give all my diamonds for a snowstorm right now

Wanna trade places? My best memory of the year so far was to wear summer clothes in 2- and I would do anything to have it back.

I'm allergic to warmth
heat = cureless exhausting suffering
cold = revitalizing. put on a sweater and get all cozy

Re: About where you live ;)
haha, but heat is an excuse to go down to the beach, is it not??? Then you can soak up the warm sun and swim in the surf, you can enjoy an ice-cream (I'm too young to legally have the cold beers)

Re: About where you live ;)
Don't lynch me, but...
The beach is TOO SANDY!!!
And... sun gives you skin cancer (and makes me look like a lobster =s)
Not to mention that I hate water and can't swim!
I can agree with the ice cream, but I eat that every day in any weather without having to suffer in the heat. I do have the age to drink but I'm straight edge so that doesn't help either

Re: About where you live ;)
c'mon, aussies and beer
If you live in australia you must know how to swim, and I'm not sure if you've ever actually experienced sand like the stuff we get here...
There's sunscreen for a reason (I'm a shade darker than a sheet of paper myself)

Swedish people and beer... apparently I don't belong =P
I wont question you on that one, luckily there's not a lot of sand around here
Yuck, I don't like to shmear stuff on myself. I'm a shade whiter than a piece of paper (could almost pass for an irishman) and I tell you, resembling a ghost aint that bad!

Re: About where you live ;)
Besides being incredibly hot during the summer (around 37 Celsius like right now), Texas is mostly farmland with smaller cities and towns strewn about. We have some almost exclusive wildlife like the Texas Rattle snakes or Armadillos. Otherwise the main danger of the area are the common tornado's that come through this region seasonally. I have yet to be hit myself but my area has had it's close calls.

Oh, that reminds me... The annual cyclones (you'd know them as hurricanes) up north... Fortunately I'm a bit further south, so we don't get hit

Re: About where you live ;)
Interesting, hurricanes often can hit the southern Texas coast from the Gulf of Mexico. I never get hit by them because i'm a bit farther north.

Opposite sides of the world further north is warmer over here Problem is, when the cyclones come, they destroy the banana plantations half the time, and they become 10 times as expensive (literally 5 bucks for a banana)

Re: About where you live ;)
I live in Chicago, one of the world's greatest cities. We have the tallest building in the Western hemisphere, the nicest urban highway in the world (Lake Shore Drive), and the greatest skyline in the world. We also have a dozen murders every hot summer weekend, in winter it can get down to 40 below zero (on either temperature scale), and the sheer corruption of our politicians is legendary the world over. But we also have the greatest Pizza in the world, so it all evens out.

You forgot to mention the Second City Saint, CM Punk!
What's the name of that building?
Sounds like I'm gonna have to go there and get a pizza in winter times.
