Iron Golem Farm Empty Iron Golem Farm

I'm thinking we need to make an iron golem farm. They drop 0-5 iron and this makes iron a farmable resource.

We'd have to move villagers to somewhere else to control them and then put them in a house and get enough to make iron golems spawn.

Iron Golems

Do
Get damaged by lava
Suffocate to death

Don't
Have fall damage
Drown

There's a lot on farming on the wiki page and I'm thinking maybe it'd work best if we dug out a huge room to leave only a small space to spawn on.

We should try to make the village look like something, a prison or a village.

and just take the spawn rules into effect to make the golem farm work.

Later. There's more important things to be doing than farming iron golems. I already said this, but we don't want to get caught up in the new features, and forget about our actual goal

Last time I checked we had used up all our iron. At this point an iron farm could be useful.

Or we could do the dwarven thing and mine. Or go to that zombie spawner and wait for rare drops of iron, while getting exp

This 'dwarven stereotype' is so overrated! Why not kill iron golems or make an iron golem farm, the more iron we have the better. Regardless of the legit way we did so.

The main problem with this is that we will start trying to make new things from the new update (which are not required to get what we need). It takes attention away from building our city. Construction is going slow as it is. The only thing that seems to progress fast is the big digging projects. 

And the "dwarven stereotype"... Read the name of the project again, and tell me why we don't want to follow it? We WANT the dwarven stereotype, and we are playing like dwarves. I thought that was fairly obvious.
Also, digging for iron also gives you gold, lapis, and diamond, as well as more coal and redstone. More productive than having to farm just for iron

I'd find the project a lot more impressive if not only was it legit, but used only ores obtained through mining in our mine, would be pretty impressive by the end, maybe we could put one in later and use it for tools or something?

I understand the importance of the 'dwarven' stereotype' and I won't make a farm until later. But if we are short on iron I'll go and get some more from them, they're much easier than mining.

That's exactly what I was hoping to do Smile I don't even like the idea of exp grinding, but I realized that if we were to do ores as decoration, it'd be unrealistic to ask people to get 50 levels fighting mobs (my best is 35 before I was killed by another player)
