Silk touch pick Empty Silk touch pick

We have a silk touch pick, yay! Many thanks to whoeverer made it, mist have taken a lot of work. I just wondered how much of a 'waste' it would be to use the pick on stuff like coal, My plan for the mine tunel is to replace the 2x2 squares of smoothstone with ores (coal, iron, lapis, redstone, gold and diamond) in some kind of order, either random or in a pattern. I just wanted to get everyones opinion on the priority of this. This wouldn't be extended to all cart tunnels, I just thought it would be fitting that the tunnel to our grand mine would be paved with the riches it has given us.

If you read the "what did YOU do today" thread you'll find out who made it and so on. I think you should do coal only or perhaps iron on the way to the mine. It seems fitting for a mine and we use the other riches as decorative blocks. Perhaps redstone as it's what we can spare the most but I don't know how fitting it would be, perhaps it'd be great.

Give it a shot for the first little bit (maybe 3 repetitions). Dont do redstone, that's the tunnel to the store room.

I made it, and the Fortune III pick as well.

And I have tested empircally that, yes, we can silk touch ores such as coal, bring them back to the storeroom, place them as blocks...and re-mine with the fortune pick. I don't want the fortune pick to ever leave the store room now.

If it works like that, then it will not!
